Jeff Koons builant several statues adapted from the photo taken in 1985 the statues were sold and Koons tried to claim fair use by parody
OUTCOME
the court found the similarities too close and Koons was made to pay an undisclosed monetary sum
the case was closed
Vanilla Ice vs Queen and David Bowie
Ice Ice Baby
Vanilla Ice had a hit in 1991 Called Ice Ice Baby it sampled but did not credit David Bowie and Queen (Under Pressure) at first Ice denied the sample and called it a joke but later retracted the statement Facing lawsuit from the Duo Ice confessed to sampling the work
OUTCOME
The case was settled privately outside court with Ice paying an undisclosed sum of money
and crediting Bowie/Queen on the track.
